This page is going to focus on Alabama artists and recordings.  I have found that not everybody knows how important to popular music Alabama is and has been.  I am evangelical about this, so if you know of an artist I should know about, please let me know.

There’s no better place to start with Alabama music than FAME Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Muscle Shoals.  Watch the documentary — it will amaze you just how much great music was produced there.  To get you started, though, here is a Spotify playlist with just a little bit of the magic.

Congratulations to Mike and Cindy Tanner for being the parents of a child with the #1 record in America today!  Alabama Shakes is having a terrific run, and we couldn’t be happier for them.
